Notes |
Married:
- Claude Halstead states marriage record show name as "Nichols"; and further states that a book by McClure, which includes the background on the family of Hester Halstead, granddaughter of Daniel and Sarah Nichols Halstead, stated that Sarah Nichols was a descendant of Governor Nichols. The name may have been Dutch Nichol-son and as was with many Dutch families that carried the 'son' or 'sen' designation, discarded the adj. 'son' from the name "Americanizing" it.
