But the more recent stuff that she knew personally. she had shared with me before she died in 1948. It was the stuff about the Pomeroys (her mother) that fascinated me. Not knowing better and being a very extreme novice, I wrote to one of the societies in New England. They wrote back that they didn't know of any Eltweed Pomeroys in the 19th century, but there was one in 1630."
