Godfrey George HALSTED was baptised on 29 May 1870 at Slindon, Sussex. In the census of 2 April 1871 at Church Cottage, Slindon, Sussex, he was listed as aged 11 months born Chichester, the son of Henry HALSTEAD.3 In the census of 3 April 1881, he was listed as aged 10 born Chichester, a pupil in the Surrey House School, Littlehampton, Sussex.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 at Church House, Slindon, Sussex, he was listed as single, aged 20 born Chichester, the son of Henry HALSTEAD.5 In the census of 31 March 1901 at The Warren, Chichester, Sussex, he was listed as single, a Farmer, aged 30 born Chichester, the son of Henry HALSTEAD.6
Godfrey married Hannah Jameson MORGAN in 1919 in the Wandsworth registration district.7,8
Godfrey died on 21 January 1932 at Decoy Poling nr Arundel, Sussex, at the age of 61.9,8

In the census of 6 June 1841 at Chalcroft Lane, South Bersted, Sussex, he was listed as aged 14 born in county, the assumed son of Charles HALSTED.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 at South Bersted, Sussex, he was listed as single, a Superintendant Farmer, aged 24 born Havant, Hampshire, the nephew of Elizabeth Treagus HALSTED.2
Thomas married Susannah Ruth PENFOLD, daughter of Henry PENFOLD and Ruth (?), on 24 April 1854 at the Parish Church, Farlington, Hampshire. He was a Yeoman aged 27, a bachelor residing in the parish of Oving, Suusex. His father was listed as Charles HALSTED, a Farmer. According to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England. The marriage was witnessed by Richard LORDER and M A LORDER.3,4,5

In the census of 2 April 1871 at Elbridge Farm, Colworth, Oving, Sussex, Thomas was listed as aged 44 born Havant, Hampshire, the Head of Household; a Farmer of 50 acres, living with his wife Susanna Ru, sons Walter Wallice, Edwd John, Eaarnest Geo and Harry Peter, daughters Sarah Ann, Minnie Caroline and Mary Ann.7
