Halstead married Hannah Elizabeth PITCHFORTH on 31 December 1890 at St Mary, Elland, Yorkshire. He was an Overlooker aged 24, a bachelor residing in Frances Street, Elland. His father was listed as Richard MARSDEN, a Warehouseman. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Amelia WOODHALL and John C PITCHFORTH.^3,4

Robert Halstead DIXON was born in 1876 at Truro, Cornwall.¹ He was the son of Robert DIXON and Margaret DIXON. In the census of 3 April 1881 at Penarth, St Clement, Cornwall, he was listed as aged 5 born Truro, the son of Robert DIXON.² In the census of 5 April 1891 at Penarth, St Clement, Cornwall, he was listed as single, aged 15 born Truro, the son of Robert DIXON.³
In the census of 31 March 1901 at 3 Florence Terrace, Ealing, Middlesex, Robert was listed as single, aged 25 born Truro, Cornwall, the Head of Household; a General Medical Practioner, living with his sister Alice M DIXON.⁴
Robert married Maude Mary DIXON in 1902 in the Brentford registration district.⁵
His wife, Maude, died in 1911 in the Brentford registration district.⁶
In the census of 2 April 1911 at 8 Blakesley Avenue, Ealing, Middlesex, Robert was listed as a widower, aged 35 born Truro, Cornwall, the Head of Household; a Medical Practioner, living with his sons Douglas Strangeways and Arthur Robert, daughters Margaret Strangeways and Dorothy Halstead.⁷
