     Mary HALSTEAD was born in 1756 at Lancashire. In the census of 6 June 1841 at Toll Bar, Mereclough, Cliviger, Lancashire, she was listed as aged 85 born in county, in the household of John HALSTEAD, although no relationship was stated.1
Mary's death was registered in 1847 in the Burnley registration district.2

John married Mary Ann MARSDEN on 28 January 1854 at St Mary the Virgin, Blackburn, Lancashire. He was a Piecer aged 22, a bachelor residing in Blackburn. His father was listed as William HALSTEAD, a Sawyer. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Thomas MELLODY and John PILKINGTON.2,3
