Maria married Charles Townsend HALSTED, son of Charles HALSTED and Ann GATES, on 9 June 1863 at St Peter the Great, Chichester, Sussex. She was of full age, a spinster residing in Chichester. Her father was listed as Edward FULLER, a Gentleman. By Licence. The marriage was witnessed by Ernest CATT??LLER, Edward FULLER and Walter Benjamin WILLIAMS.3,4,1
In the census of 2 April 1871 at North Street, Chichester, Sussex, she was listed as aged 36 born Chichester, the wife of Charles Townsend HALSTED (a Banker, living with his wife Maria, daughters Julia M, Lucy M and Nora L, sons Charles E, Walter F and Ernest F, sister-in-law Ellen FULLER).5
In the census of 3 April 1881 at North Street, Chichester, Sussex, she was listed as aged 45 born Chichester, the wife of Charles Townsend HALSTED (Alderman, JP and Banker, living with his wife Maria, daughter Norah Lilian, sons William Wilfred and Alan Gordon, sister-in-law Ellen FULLER).6
