She was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Halstead, and the bridegroom’s niece, Miss Margaret Murray, the first-named being dressed in pink with head-dress and shoulder veil, and the latter in mauve with headdress and shoulder veil. Both bridesmaids carried sweet peas. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Thomas Brereton, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr. Robert Halstead# the bride’s cousin, was groomsman. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Father William Brereton, brother of the bridegroom, who came from Scotland to perform the ceremony. A reception took place at the Co-operative Cafe. Numerous presents were received by the happy couple, amongst them being a gold eiderdown and bedspread from the workpeople of Platers Stampers.
