In the census of 31 March 1901 at Oak Lodge, Blandford Road, Reigate, Surrey, she was listed as aged 32 born Hampstead, Middlesex, the wife of Thomas Edward HALSTED (a Stockbroker, living with his wife Mary L, daughters Frances and Leslie, sons Francis A, mother Frances HALSTED, niece Dagmar HALSTED).5
Her husband, Thomas, died on 20 September 1909 at the age of 47.4
In the census of 2 April 1911 at 33 Croydon Road, Reigate, Surrey, Mary was listed as aged 42 born Hampstead, Middlesex, the Head of Household; a Boarding House Keeper, a widow, living with her daughters Frances and Leslie Elaine.6
Mary died on 14 December 1959 at St Johns, Dunclutha Road, Hastings, Sussex.7

     Emily HOLSTEAD was born in 1871 at Bolton, Lancashire.1 She was the daughter of John HOLSTEAD and Susannah GILLIBRAND. In the census of 3 April 1881 at 12 Shaw Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, she was listed as aged 9 born Bolton, the daughter of John HOLSTEAD.2 In the census of 5 April 1891 at 32 Egerton Street, Farnworth, Lancashire, she was listed as single, a Cotton Winder, aged 20 born Bolton, the daughter of John HOLSTEAD.3
Emily married David COOK on 2 March 1895 at Egerton Street Wesleyan Methodist, Farnworth, Lancashire.4
