Clara Owen, a single woman, living at Darling Point Road, said she knew deceased by the name of Emily Wilson. She had known her for 12 months. She was a servant at the same place as witness. She kept company with a young man. She told witness In December she was in trouble. She said, "She would fix herself and It would be all right." She added that she had successfully done this same thing on a former occasion. Witness told her she was silly. Deceased left her employment on Thursday week, and had done something two days before. She told witness she was "all right now," and would be right in two days. Witness added, "She was all right when she left our place," but she was afterwards in pain. She did not then think she was out of trouble, and re-marked, "It can't be helped." Then she went to bed and remained there till Thursday morning. Witness did not send for a doctor. Witness did not remain with her on Tuesday, but she did on Wednesday night, when a child was born. Witness was the only per-, son, present at the time— It was a quarter past seven at night. Witness did not tell a soul about it. Her mistress made in-quiries about her. Deceased told her mistress that she had fallen off the copper, and would be right in a couple of days. Dr. Harold Molesworth, the resident doctor of Prince Alfred Hospltai, said the deceased was admitted to that institution at 10 o'clock on Saturday night. She told the hospital authorities that she had had a. mishap ten days before. Her pulse was quick, and her temperature 104. Internally she was In a very bad condition. The next) morning the tem perature was 106. and she was evidently suf-fering from septicaemia from which she died on the following Tuesday.
Dr. Palmer, who made a post-mortem, gave evidence to the effect that deceased died from septicaemia. He attributed the sep-ticaemia to the use of mechanical Instru-ments in unskilled hands.
Mrs. Sarah Poole, sister of deceased, said she had never suspected the deceased was In trouble. On Thursday week she came to witness' house at Newtown and told her she was not well. A young man called on Friday and had an interview with the deceased, Witness visited her on Sunday night, when she was unconscious.
The Coroner (to witness); When did you first become aware that the girl was in trouble?— After she left our house. When I had spoken to her about it she denied it alto-gether. When the young man came in the evening I asked him certain questions, which he denied.
Francis Gilbert Halsted, a draper's asslstent. said he married deceased on Saturday, the 3rd inst., at 9 o'clock In the morning, in Pitt-street; He used to take her about twice a week. That was two or three months ago.. She told witness, on Sunday, the 25th that she had used a certain Instrument on herself. He next saw her on the following Thursday, when he went to see her. She told him she was going to leave her service, and was going to stay with her sister. On Friday she told him a chemist had given her a draught after the mishap. He saw her at her sister's on Friday evening, when she was In bed. Witness did say de-ceased had told him she had fallen from a copper.

Dagmar married Henry Charles DILLON on 23 February 1935 at Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia.1
Appears in a newspaper article on on 26 February 1935 at at Kempsey, New South Wales, DILLON— HALSTED
A very pretty wedding, and one that attracted a marked degree of. public interest, was celebrated af St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Kempsey, on Saturday evening, 23rd February, when Miss Dagmar Imogene Halsted, only child of Mr. tmd Mrs. F. G. Halsted, of Kempsey, was united in holy bonds to Mr. Henry Charles Dillon, second son of Mr. and Mrs M J. Dillon, of Narabeen, the Rev. J. B. Thorn, B.D., officiating.
The; church was prettily decorated for the occasion by girl friends of the bride. While silver bells and horseshoes were suspended above the bride and bridegroom, and in posi tion for the couple to kneel upon were two white satin cushions with orange blossoms in one corner.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a classical gown of ivory satin quod lame, the long train forming three full scallops; the veil was worn over yards of billowing tulle which was kept in place by a twist of the same material as the frock. The veil, which was of Limerick lace, and now the property of the bride, belonged to her grand-mother, who requested that it should be handed down to the first grand daughter married. The bride carried a sheaf of white frangipanni and lilies, with gold lacquered leaves to match the thread in her frock.
In striking contrast the the frock of the bride were those of the brides maids; Misses Daphne Garland and Julie Harris (cousin of the bride). These were of flame organza, the hats being black lacquered satin and crinoline straw. They carried shower bouquets of flame lilies and gerberas.
The bridegroom was supported by Mr. John McCrohon (Bundarra) as best man and by Mr. J. Murray as groomsman, and Messrs. A. K. Far-rent and Jim McCrohon acted in the capacity Of ushers.
The wedding reception was held in the Memorial Hall, where the guests were received by the bride's mother wearing a frock of ice blue suede lame with a silver lame hat and carrying a posy of blue hydrangea.
At the reception a tasteful breakfast was served, the color scheme of the tables including flame lilies and gerberas, matching the frocks of the bridesmaids.
The three-decker cake, a gift to the bride, a fine piece of workmanship, was decorated with gold leaves to match the thread in the bride's frock.
Many congratulatory telegrams and a cable from New Zealand were received and read.
The happy couple left for their honeymoon, which will be spent in Melbourne and Adelaide, the bride tra velling in a suit of cheerio red and suede crepe, relieved with French grey and engadine green.2 Dagmar Imogene DILLON and Henry Charles DILLON were divorced on 9 June 1940 at Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia.3
Appears in a newspaper article on on 12 June 1940 at at New South Wales Unhappy Ending
The following report appeared in "Truth" of 9th instant:—
"I will not see you again under any circmstances, nor will I write again or speak to you on the telephone. 'I make this definite and final decision because I feel sure that it will be best for your future and mine.'
In these words Mrs Dagmar Imogene Dillon (formerly Halsted) ended her romance with Henry Charles Dill-on, an officer of the Railway Depart-ment, now stationed at Sydney, but formerly of Kempsey, where he was married, on February 23, 1935.
Miss Halsted was born at Bingara. Her father was principal of the drapery firm of that name in Kempsey.
Dillon was stationed at Kempsey for some 12 months after his marriage, he lold the judge in Divorce last week, when applying for a dissolution of the bonds on the ground of desertion.
He was moved to Thirroul on transfer.
The pair discussed future plans, according to the husband. He said he would go ahead and look for a suitable residence. He advised his wife to have their furniture stored and suggested that she should go back to her people. He said she agreed to this.
At that time she was still engaged in her father's business.
Dillon said that he could not get a house in the seaside village, but he managed to secure a suitable apart-ment and wrote asking his wife to join him.
This is what he received by way of reply: — Never Change. Smith-street, Kempsey, 9/6/36.
Dear Harry, — I am writing as promised. I am sorry I can't change my mind and go back to you.
As I have told you, I cannot en-dure the unhappiness which you have caused me during the first year of our married life.
I feel sure you could not alter or that I would be happy ever again.
Mr. Thorn came to me and said he had seen you in Sydney. Nothing he had to say would cause me to change my mind.
I will not see you again under any circumstances nor will I write again or speak to you on the phone. DAGMAR.
The Judge: She speaks of unhap-piness. What does that mean?
Dillon: Differences brought about by her father and mother interfering in our domestic affairs.
From Thirroul Dillon was transfer red to Lithgow, where he remained three years, then to St. Leonards, and finally to headquarters at Sydney.
Donald Lett, of Austinmer, with whom Dillon boarded, and Leslie J. Moroney, of the Court House Hotel. Lithgow, where the petitioner resided for three years, gave corroborative evidence.
