     Joe HALSTEAD was born in 1899 at Huddersfield, Yorkshire.1 He was the son of Ishmael HALSTEAD and Nancy RAWCLIFFE. In the census of 31 March 1901 at 65 Hill Top, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 1 born Huddersfield, the grandson of Martha (?)2
