Married:
- Compiler's note: Our source lists these last two children, with birth dates in the 1870s [Charles 1873 and James R. 1879]...this does not seem correct. Both Richard and his spouse are shown born 1816...simple math tells me they would have been 57 years and 63 years respectively when these boys were born. I am "tentatively including these boys where our source has placed them...but suspect they are from a different generation and\or family. One other possibility that occurs is that our source tells us wife#1 of Richard was still living in 1880...but does not indicate when Richard married wife#2...did Richard and Sarah Ann have a parting of the ways at some point before 1873, and he then married a much younger Wife #2 who bore him these last two sons? Apparently the later scenario is a strong probability if Sarah Ann was indeed still alive, as we find Richard and Mary C. Halstead in Millford in the 1880 census with family, including these two much younger children... G.A.H. Jul 2006
