Samuel Powell was mentioned in his father's will, Thomas Powell, of Bethpage, in Hempstead, Queens Co., NY, written 2 Feb 1755.

There is an obvious problem with the dates of birth of the last two children born to Samuel H. Powell and Mary Wood, as their births are shown as only five months apart. Hannah was born in February of 1771 and Jacob was born in July of 1771. One of these dates must be in error, but I find the identical information in every database I have seen that shows this family. I think this is another case of some compiler making an error on entering data, and then everyone else copying that information, using their fingers to type in the information without letting it percolate up to a conscious level in the brain. 26 Mar 2001 QLE
