Notes - This union has been a point of confusion for compilers. Many databases show the wife of John Carman, III, to be the daughter of Captain John Seaman from his union with Martha Moore, and refer to her as the Hannah Seaman mentioned in his will. This is not possible. The marriage of Captain John Seaman to Martha Moore occurred in 1655. The Hannah that married John Carman, III, did so in about 1656. The daughter, named Hannah, of the Seaman/Moore union has unknown dates of birth and death but, whatever those dates may have been, she is of the wrong generation to have married John Carman, III. Instead she is the spouse of the son of John Carman, III, Caleb Carman, about 1658 to 1729. All databases are in agreement that the given name of the spouse of John Carman, III, was Hannah. 23 Mar 2001 QLE
