  This record is based on conjecture. Thomas Carman bought land of Simeon Stites who had a daughter Mary. The naming of his granddaughter as Mary Van Wyck is a strong indication that his wife's Christian name was Mary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
