  From an abstract of the will of Samuel: "Denton, Samuel, of Hempstead, Queens CO., yeoman. Inventory (Feb. 16, 1718/19) taken and appraised by Isaac Smith and John Searing and exhibited on Oct. 10, 1720 by Samuel Emery, one of the executors. The largest item listed was two Negro men - 50 Pounds. He mentions his wife but does not name her. Child Ruth, a minor, single. 'brothers Joseph Denton and John Denton, the son of Jonah."
