Notes - John Doughty lived at Cow Neck, Queens County, New York.
He and his wife were Quakers. The meeting was held at his home from 1703 until 1708 when he removed to Flushing, where he lived until he removed to Burlington County, New Jersey.
A deed, dated 28 Apr 1699, of Daniel Whitehead gives a farm to his son-in-law Jacob Doughty and to his daughter Amy, wife of Jacob. This was probably the farm on Cow Neck in Hempstead.
In 1716 Jacob Doughty was a member of the Assembly for Burlington County, New Jersey.
Jacob Doughty's will is on record at Trenton, New Jersey, signed 2 Jul 1737, and proven at Burlington, New Jersey 12 Aug 1737. In it, Jacob Doughty of Bethlehem, Hunterden County, New Jersey, devises his estate to his wife Amy, giving legacies to his son Daniel and his doughter Deborah.
