The funeral will leave the residence of his son, W. H. Halstead, Edgley road, Hastings, for the Hastings Cemetery, at 9 a.m. to-morrow, 19th March, 1919.8

Obituary of William HALSTEAD: on 19 March 1919 at Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand, MR. WILLIAM HALSTEAD.
On Monday, at Nurse Callaghan's private hospital, Hastings occurred the death of Mr William Halstead, late of Pleasant Point. Mr Halstead was for a number or years engaged in farming in the Pleasant Point district, anci also carried on a fellmongery business there. Mr Halstead was born at Halifax, England, in 1836, and arrived in New Zealand in 1858. Some years later he went to Australia, but returned to New Zealand. In 1856 he went to Pleaspnt Point, where he resided until within a few months of his death. He was for a number, of years chairman of ihe Pleasant Point School Committee. Domain Board and Cemetery Board and was a commissioner of the Pleasant Town Board. Owing to failing health the cleceased recently removed to the North Island and went to live with his only surviving daughter Mrs E Lightband. Mr Halstead, who was 83 years of age, is susvived by five sons and one daughter, his wife having died 23 years ago.9
