The funeral of the late Mr. J. W. Blakeborough, of Fence, formerly of Barrowford, took place last Thursday at the Inghamite Church. He was 65 years of age, and leaves a widow and daughter. Dispite the wrong spelling of the name at the beginning for the piece this is the correct person.⁵

     John ELLIS was born in 1853 at Skythorne, Yorkshire, England.¹ He was the son of Richard ELLIS and Elizabeth HALSTEAD. In the census of 7 April 1861 at Skythornes, Linton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as aged 7 born Skythornes, the son of Elizabeth ELLIS.²

In the census of 31 March 1901 at 3 Freeman Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England, William was listed as aged 37 born Barnsley, the Head of Household; a Tailors Travellor, living with his wife Alice, sons William H and Cyril, daughters Gladys, Doris I, Phyllis and Marjorie.⁴ He was listed in the 1939Register taken on 29 September 1939 at Woodfield Cottage, Shelley, Yorkshire, England. He was married, a Coollen Carbonizer, born 17 August 1863.⁵
His wife, Alice, died in 1941 in the Shelley registration district.⁶

The marriage was witnessed by Albert Ernest HALSTEAD amd Gladys Muriel KITCHEN.^2,1
