At Huddersfield Bankruptcy Court, on Monday (before Mr. Registrar Freeman), the public examinations were commenced of Henry Cecil Turner, Obelisk House, Cooper Bridge; Annie Turner and Emily Turner, spinsters, both of 12, High Street, Brighouse, trading together as worsted manufacturers, under the style of Henry C. Turner and Co., at Colne Bridge Mills, Colnebridge, Bradley, and as cotton, rope, and spindle band manufacturers, under the style of Executors of Jonathan Turner, at Owlen Ings Mill, Brighouse.
A summary the debtors' statement of affairs showed that the gross liabilities were £25,629 17s. 11d., of which amount £15,099 15s was expected to rank for divident. Assets were estimated to produce £6.763 2s. 9d., which left a deficiency of £18,336 12s. 3d.
Henry Turner said the £18.OOO deficiency arose in part from the Colnebridge business, and in part from his own personal extravagance.
The Official Receiver asked for the examination to be adjourned for further information on certain Copenhagen losses.
The Registrar said the ladies were very much to be pitied, for they had been absolutely honest and straightforward in all their dealings.
The examinations were adjourned until November 12.7

At Huddersfield Bankruptcy Court, on Monday (before Mr. Registrar Freeman), the public examinations were commenced of Henry Cecil Turner, Obelisk House, Cooper Bridge; Annie Turner and Emily Turner, spinsters, both of 12, High Street, Brighouse, trading together as worsted manufacturers, under the style of Henry C. Turner and Co., at Colne Bridge Mills, Colnebridge, Bradley, and as cotton, rope, and spindle band manufacturers, under the style of Executors of Jonathan Turner, at Owlen Ings Mill, Brighouse.
A summary the debtors' statement of affairs showed that the gross liabilities were £25,629 17s. 11d., of which amount £15,099 15s was expected to rank for divident. Assets were estimated to produce £6.763 2s. 9d., which left a deficiency of £18,336 12s. 3d.
Henry Turner said the £18.OOO deficiency arose in part from the Colnebridge business, and in part from his own personal extravagance.
The Official Receiver asked for the examination to be adjourned for further information on certain Copenhagen losses.
The Registrar said the ladies were very much to be pitied, for they had been absolutely honest and straightforward in all their dealings.
The examinations were adjourned until November 12.6

Henry died on 5 September 1977 at 147 Adel Lane, Leeds, Yorkshire, England, at the age of 82.7,5 His estate was probated on 10 November 1977 at London, England. The estate was valued at £4,525.5
