An inquest was held at the Town Hall on Thursday on Mr. John Richmond, a foreman cabinet maker, of 2, Rossendale-road, Burnley, who dropped down and died in Rosegrove Lane.
Louisa Richmond, the widow, said her busband was aged 57 and was employed by Messrs. Holt, Ltd., billiard table makers. He had been attended by Dr. Sykes quite recently for sciatica, Deceased was working on Tuesday and came home to his tea at 5-15. He complained of feeling tired but he went out about nine o'clock. Twenty minutes later a girl came to the house and said that a man had been taken ill in Lowerhouse-lane, and somebody had said that it was Mr. Richmond. Witness went at once into Rosegrove-Lane and saw a man being carried into 62, Rosogrove-lane. She went into the house and found it was her husband.
Mr, Walter Dixon, 20, Rosegrove-lane, stationer and newsagent, said he first saw deceased pass No. 74, Rosegrove-lane. Witness said "Good evening" to deccassd and he replied "Good evening.'' Witness had only gone a short distance when he turned and he saw Mr. Richmond lying on the footpath about 20 yards away. On going up to him he found he was unconscious and was making a gurgling noise. Witness took his collar off and loosened his shirt neck and then another man came to his assistance. Witness and the other man tried artificial respiration and then sent for Dr. Sykes. In wltness's opinion he was dead before he was taken into the house. The coroner (Mr. Sutcliffe) said Dr. Sykes had certified that death was probably due to cerebral hemorrhage, and he (Mr. Sutcliffe) returned a verdict of "natural causes".
Mr. Richmond was well known in Rosegrove and Lowerhouse. He was a son of the late Mr. W. Richmond, "Stork" Mill, and, a cabinet maker by trade, had been a foreman at Messrs. Holts' Billiard Works for about ten years. He had been connected with the Lowerhouse C.C. for many years and also the Nelson House Bowling Club.
Mr, Richmond leaves a widow and one son, and the interment takes place to-day at the Burnley Cemetery.5

Amidst every manifestation of regret, the funeral took place on Saturday of Mr. John Richmond, of 2. Rossendale road. Burnley, whose sudden death on Tuesday was reported in our Saturday's issue. Mr. Richmond, who was 57 years of age and of a most genial disposition, was well known in the district and highly respected.
The interment at Burnley Cemetery was attended bv Mr. Taylor (director) and Mr Berry (secretary and manager of W. Holt. Ltd.) where deceased had been foreman for ten years. The bearers were employees of the firm
The mourners were: Mother and Arthur, Mrs. Whittam, Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin, Mrs Clegg, Mrs, Clark. Mrs. Parish, Mrs. James Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Halstead, Miss Halstead,Mr. M. J. Allen, Mr. Robt. Parker, Rev J W. Ffoulkes.5 His estate was given Letters of Administration on 1 December 1926 at Lancaster, Lancashire, England. The estate was valued at £165 10s 0d.6

She is on the census in 1861 with her sister as a single woman under the name of MkNESS.

The only other option is that she married some else before the HOLSTEAD but that would be two marriages in four years but I am not convinced.

Resident in the same street sixty years, 90- years-old Mrs. Elizabeth Alice Veevers, of 4, Pendie Street, Padiham, died last Monday, and was interred in Padiham Cemetery last Thursday.
Mrs. Veevers was born on February 8th, 1849, the same day as Mr. James Thompson, of 319, Briercliffe Road, Burnley. Many years ago Mr, Thompson, a former Padiham man, often played cricket with Mrs Veevers's husband.
Mrs, Veevers was born in the Gannow district at Lower Ridge Farm, on the site of which a cotton mill now stands. Sixty years ago she left Burnley to reside in: Pendle Street, Padiham, and after 24 years in one house, removed a few yards along the street to the house she occupied until her death. In her younger days Mrs; Veevers was connected with Park Hill Church, and although she attended Crossbank Methodist Church; during her residence in Padiham. she took part in anniversary services at Park Hill until advancing years prevented her from leaving her home, She had been bedfast over three years.
Mrs. Veevers was married 69 years ago, and her husband, Mr Cornelius Veevers, was a Sunday school teacher at Crosshank for 14 years. He died 23 years ago. A son, Albert, has lived in U.S.A. 32 years, and another son, Edwin, died five months ago. Her three daughters live in Padiham. There are five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
