In the census of 31 March 1901 at 8 Delph Hill, Midgley, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 4 months born Midgley, the son of Charles Uttley GREENWOOD.2 In the census of 2 April 1911 at 10 Thorney Lane, Midgley, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 10 born Midgley, the son of Charles Uttley GREENWOOD.3

     Halstead GREENWOOD was born in 1843 at Langfield, Yorkshire. He was the son of John GREENWOOD and Mary HALSTEAD. In the census of 30 March 1851 at Lumbutts, Langfield, Yorkshire, he was listed as aged 8 born Langfield, the son of John GREENWOOD.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 at Lumbutts, Langfield, Yorkshire, he was listed as single, a Sizer Cotton, aged 18 bon Langfield, the son of John GREENWOOD.2
Halstead married Betsy KERSHAW on 22 October 1863 at St John the Baptist, Halifax, Yorkshire. He was a Sizer aged 20, a bachelor residing in Langfield. His father was listed as John GREENWOOD, a Labourer. After Banns. The marriage was witnessed by Joseph GREENWOOD and Ruth KERSHAW.3,4
His wife, Betsy, died in 1867 at Todmorden, Yorkshire.5
